All jokes aside, the sad thing is the buildup has taken away this animals natural environment and it's just an internet joke.
Pretty disappointing.

He tried to challenge the city's plans, but he was too late to the public hearing! And by the time he got home, the crew was already at work.

He went to lodge a complaint but he was told he had to go to the basement where he was met with a sign that read "beware the leopard"

The problem is that this is the came MANY places. Just like that video of the orangutan climbing on a truck at a construction site. Their homes are taken and they have then nowhere to go.

u/RManDelorean 1d ago
Yeah we are actively seeing an animal being literally displaced by new development.

u/Salamangra 1d ago
Yeah, memes aside this is tragic. Literally watching an animal be moved from the land it resided on. I hate humans. The agricultural revolution was non-ironically a huge mistake. I hate this world.

I love sloths so much.

u/i_tyrant 1d ago
It's funny that sloths are so quiet, and yet this is still a "gif you can hear".
A shovel being dragged over gravel is not quiet, so the idea he's riding a flying broom like Harry Potter cracks me up, hahaha.
"Yer a wizard Slothy!"

This is democracy manifest.

The sloth: "Have a look at the headlock here. See that chap over there? He… GET YOUR HAND OFF MY PENIS! This is the bloke who got me on the penis before. Why did you do this to me? For what reason? What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?"

On the Amazon river (always feel like an asshole when I mention I went to the Amazon for a few days, but it’s the only slightly interesting thing I’ve done tbh) our guide told us that sloths would swim slowly across the river at more narrow points, and sometimes people would pick them up and put them back on land only for the sloth to immediately start swimming again, and sometimes this tired then out so much they would drown.
But he also told me to put my hand on a large group of tiny black ants (he did it first, I am stupid but wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t) and let them crawl around, only to burst out laughing when they started biting. I took everything he said with a grain of salt after that.

In my head canon the sloth is spouting nonsensical overly political rhetoric and he is being taken away he shouts “ you all know it’s true!”

Man, I specifically turned on the music thinking the Harry Potter theme would be playing.
Other then that sloth's are S tier animals.

Fastest I ever seen a sloth move! So smooth with it too. High key looks like a muppet
How did all that movement not kill him?

This like when Captain Janeway orders Tuvix to the teleporters in Voyager, and Tuvix is begging for his life.
Funny, but really it's not funny. :/

These things are actually pretty dangerous btw. They can actually move decently fast when they want to, and they have long claws and strong arms. I heard the two-toed ones are more aggressive than the three-toed.
